taryn saarman.
saarman first. ceramic second.
saaramic is what happens when a hobby gets out of hand. it started with one wheel, spread to a kiln, and now the pieces leave the house faster than the excuses. taryn makes each one start to finish and signs the lot with the family name.

01
the name
saarman, then ceramic. the studio name is the family name with clay pressed into it, and every piece has to earn the right to carry it. the ones that do not go back to the reclaim bin.
02
the hands
one wheel, one kiln, one pair of hands. every piece in the catalogue is thrown, glazed, and fired by taryn herself, in small batches, from australian stoneware. there are no assistants and no seconds.
03
the marks
every mark on this site began as one of taryn's sketches. the roundel, the crown, the cup, the sun, the wave. drawn first, fired after.
